Yanga R. Fernández

Yanga R. Fernández (born June 10, 1971 in Mississauga , Ontario ) is a Canadian-American astronomer .

He studied at the University of Maryland and at the California Institute of Technology and has worked at these institutes and at NASA since 2002 at the University of Hawaii . In 2005 he became a professor at the University of Central Florida .

Together with Scott S. Sheppard and David C. Jewitt , he discovered some of the moons of the planet Jupiter .

In 2001 the asteroid (12225) Yanfernández was named after him.
