Yao Yan

Yao Yan ( Chinese  姚燕 , born December 9, 1974 ) is a former badminton player from the People's Republic of China .

Career

Yao Yan finished fifth in women's singles when she competed in the 1996 Olympics . In the quarterfinals she lost to Bang Soo-hyun from South Korea with 3:11 and 2:11.

In 1993 she won the French Open . There she won the final against Ye Zhaoying with 11: 7, 5:11 and 11: 5. She won the China Open in 1992. She won silver at the 1995 Asian Championships .
