history

The Yaracuyanos Fútbol Club was founded on February 20, 2006 in the Venezuelan city of San Felipe in the state of Yaracuy in the north of the country. The club name is based on the state, which is common in Venezuela . Other examples are Portuguesa FC or Deportivo Táchira . The Venezuelan Football Association classified the newly founded club in the Tercera División, the fourth highest league. In the very first season, the first place was taken there and they were promoted to the Segunda División B. Here, too, Yaracuyanos FC played well and was first in the Grupo Centro Occidente in front of the second team from Deportivo Táchira and thus made the leap in the Segunda División. Shortly afterwards, they won the final for the title of third division champions against Atlético Piar in Caracas 6: 5 on penalties after it had been 1: 1 at the end of extra time. In the first year of the second division, the club took a good ninth place in the overall table. During the season, the club, which was now in the hands of a financially strong investor, bought the shares of the financially tight Unión Atlético Maracaibo from the Primera División . When they withdrew from the Primera División, Yaracuyanos FC rose as an exchange against Maracaibo in the first division, making a flawless march from fourth to first class within three years. In the first division season 2009/10 Yaracuyanos FC was fifteenth and managed the relegation, while SD Centro Ítalo FC and Llaneros FC were relegated. The following season ended for Yaracuyanos with a good ninth place in the overall table, which was eligible for playoff games for participation in the Copa Sudamericana 2011 . In these games you prevailed against Aragua FC and Deportivo Petare and could qualify as Deportivo Anzoátegui for the continental competition.
