The Yatabe-lady's slipper ( Cypripedium yatabeanum Makino , Syn .: Cypripedium guttatum var. Yatabeanum (Makino) Pfizer ) is a plant of the genus Cypripedium in the family of orchid (Orchidaceae).

features

The Yatabe lady's slipper is a perennial plant with a rhizome that reaches heights of 20 to 35 centimeters. The leaves are almost opposite and measure 7 to 14 × 3.5 to 8 centimeters. The outer and inner tepals are light yellowish green and more or less brownish speckled. The lip is 2.2 to 2.7 inches long, light yellowish green and more or less brownish mottled.

Flowering time is from June to July.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 20.

Occurrence

The Yatabe lady's slipper occurs in southern Alaska, on the Aleutian Islands, Kamchatka, Sakhalin, in eastern Siberia and in Japan in Honshu and Yezo in the tundra, on swamp edges and on beach dunes and grasslands at altitudes of up to 1000 meters.
