Randy Napoleon

Randy Napoleon (born May 30, 1977 in Brooklyn ) is an American jazz guitarist . He was best known for his appearances with Freddy Cole , Rene Marie , Michael Bublé , Benny Green and the Clayton- Hamilton Jazz Orchestra .

life and career

Randy Napoleon was born in Brooklyn in 1977. His parents soon moved with him to Ann Arbor , Michigan. He started playing the guitar at the age of 13 . In Ann Arbor he played in the Pioneer High School big band . He studied music at the University of Michigan . He teaches at Michigan State University . Today he lives in Michigan .

Napoleon took in 2002, together with the organist Jared Gold and Quincy Davis on drums (with which he and Randy Napoleon Trio toured), his first album Enjoy The Moment of 2006 another CD, Between Friends , on the Napoleon eight standards and three original compositions interpreted . In addition to shooting in a trio with gold and Davis, it also includes recordings with the hard bop - pianist Benny Green and bassist David Wong, along with Napoleon and drummer Quincy Davis a quartet form.

Napoleon achieved great fame by accompanying Benny Green and Michael Bublé on concerts and tours, in particular the TV appearance Great Performances , which was released on DVD on Bublé's live album Caught in the Act . He was also a member of the Freddy Cole Quartet. Currently (2019) Napoleon leads a quartet that includes Luther S. Allison (piano), Neal Miner (bass) and Quincy Davis (drums).
