Yatarō Watase ( Japanese 渡 瀬 弥 太郎 , Watase Yatarō ; born October 10, 1960 in Rumoi ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

Watase competed on January 22, 1984, his only World Cup jumping. He was 15th on the large hill in Sapporo and won World Cup points with it. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 he reached 34th place on the large hill and was sixth in team jumping together with Masahiro Akimoto , Chiharu Nishikata and Akira Satō .

After his active career, Watase became a ski jumping coach and is the coach of the Japanese women's national teams.

His son Yūta Watase and his daughter Ayumi Watase are also ski jumpers.
