Chiharu Nishikata ( Japanese 西方 千 春 , Nishikata Chiharu ; born February 13, 1959 ) is a former Japanese ski jumper and ski jumping coach.

Nishikata jumped in the ski jumping world cup between 1981 and 1987 . He made his debut on December 30, 1981 at the start of the Four Hills Tournament 1981/82 in Oberstdorf . In his first Four Hills Tournament, however, he was unsuccessful. In his first competition after the tour in Thunder Bay , he was able to win his first World Cup points with 13th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1982 Nishikata jumped 22nd on the normal hill and 46th on the large hill. After he was unsuccessful in the 1982/83 Four Hills Tournament , he took an international break from competition for two years. It was not until the Nordic World Ski Championships 1985 in Seefeld in Tirol that he was part of the Japanese squad again. He reached the 31st place on the normal hill and 19th place on the large hill. In team jumping he was together with Yatarō Watase , Akira Satō and Masahiro Akimoto at the end of sixth. When jumping in Sapporo a year after the World Cup, he made it into the points again with 13th place. At the Four Hills Tournament 1986/87 Nishikata was again unsuccessful. Only in the following two World Cup competitions in Sapporo was he able to achieve World Cup points again. With 7th place he achieved the highest individual result of his career in a World Cup competition. He finished the second and last World Cup of his career in 11th place.

Nishikata appeared again at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1993 before finally ending his career. On the normal hill in Swedish Falun he reached the 6th place in the end.
