Yates Professor of Classical Art and Archeology
The Yates Professor of Classical Art and Archeology was a 1880, donated Chair of Classical Archeology at the University College of London University . The chair is named in honor of James Yates (1789–1871), who donated his fortune for it.

After Nicolas Coldstream's retirement, the chair was canceled, and John J. Wilkes , until then Professor of the Archeology of the Roman Provinces , became Chair in Greek and Roman Archeology with the title of Yates Professor , after whose retirement in 2001 he became Professor of Classical Archeology at University College completely deleted.
