Daniel Charles Oliver (born October 6, 1865 in New York City , † March 26, 1924 there ) was an American politician . Between 1917 and 1919 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Daniel Charles Oliver attended public schools and then graduated from the College of the City of New York . He worked in the school board for 20 years. Then he was an importer of dry goods and a member of the Commercial Travelers' Association . He was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1914 and 1915 . Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party .

In the 1916 congressional election for the 65th Congress , Oliver was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 23rd  constituency of New York , where he succeeded William Stiles Bennet on March 4, 1917 . Since he on a run again in 1918 renounced, he retired after March 3, 1919 from the Congress of. His congress time was overshadowed by the First World War .

After his time at Congress, he returned to his previous business activities in New York City. He died there on March 26, 1924 and was buried in Calvary Cemetery in Long Island City .
