Anburn Birdsall (born November 13, 1814 in Otego , New York , † July 10, 1903 in New York City ) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1847 and 1849 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Anburn Birdsall was born in Otsego County during the British-American War . He studied law . After receiving his license to practice law, he began practicing in a private practice. He was a district attorney in Broome County . Politically, he belonged to the Democratic Party .

In the 1846 congressional election for the 30th Congress Birdsall was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 22nd  constituency of New York , where he succeeded Stephen Strong on March 4, 1847 . He retired from the after March 3, 1849 Congress of.

After his time in Congress, he was a supply supervisor in the US Navy . He died in New York City on July 10, 1903. His body was buried in Spring Forest Cemetery in Binghamton , but in 1910 reburied in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx .
