Yavi is a village in northwest Argentina . The village is located in the north of the Jujuy Province in the Yavi Department of the same name, near the border with Bolivia, about 300 km north of the provincial capital San Salvador de Jujuy . The place is at an altitude of 3510 m.
About 270 people live in Yavi (according to INDEC 2001).
Yavi used to be the seat of a margravate - the only one that was ever established on the territory of what would become the Republic of Argentina.
Near Yavi there is a mountain called Los Siete Hermanos (Spanish: the seven brothers ) and the lake Laguna Colorada .
