Yavuz Abadan

Yavuz Abadan (born April 18, 1905 in Eskişehir , † June 30, 1967 in Ankara ) was a Turkish legal scholar and politician. He was one of the most important jurists in Turkey. His main focus was on legal philosophy , legal history and political law .

After completing his law studies at Istanbul University in 1929 , he received his doctorate from Heidelberg University . In 1933 he became a Doçent and in 1942 a professor at Istanbul University. He wrote articles for daily newspapers. From 1943 to 1946 he was a member of the Eskişehir Province in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey . After 1946 he worked at the Faculty of Political Science at Ankara University . From 1952 to 1954 he was the dean of the same faculty. After the military coup in 1960 he was dismissed from the university and went to Berlin. In 1962 he was allowed to return to Ankara University.
