Astrid Brandt (born December 29, 1963 in Bremen ; † September 26, 2019 ) was a German artist . Her work consists mainly of pencil drawings.

Career

From 1982 to 1989 she studied fine arts at the Braunschweig University of Art with Malte Sartorius and Lienhard von Monkiewitsch . She completed her studies as a master student of Malte Sartorius. From 2005 to 2010 she taught drawing at the University of the Arts in Bremen . She worked at the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts. Brandt lived in Wilhelmshaven and Braunschweig .

In 2005 she received the Imke Folkerts Prize for Fine Arts (1st prize). In 1998 she received the sponsorship award from the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture, and in 1999 the art award from the Deutsche Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken (special award).

Astrid Brandt's work has been included in the " Lower Saxony artist database and estate archive ".
