Yeşilyurt Futbol Sahası is a football stadium in Karabağlar , Izmir . The stadium is owned by the city of Izmir.
About the stadium
The football stadium houses a small south curve that is intended for fans of the visiting team. There is also a main grandstand, also equipped with seats, in which the host fans sit or stand. In the 2016/17 season, a total of 17 teams played their home games at Yeşilyurt Futbol Sahası. İzmirspor , who have been in the first and second division for many years , is considered the most popular team.
criticism
The Yeşilyurt Futbol Sahası has been exposed to some criticism in the recent past, so in 2013 the then President of İzmirspor Tansel Meriç criticized the stadium's insufficient capacity, which in his opinion simply could not accommodate the crowd of fans. The stadium is also referred to as a “cage” by the fans because it is completely fenced in and the view of the square is restricted. Various trainers also criticize the artificial turf, which is "too hard" and contains carcinogenic substances. It is unjust that playing on natural grass is reserved for the professional teams of Izmir, is the unanimous opinion of many teams that play their games on the pitch.
