Yeşim Ustaoğlu (born November 18, 1960 in Çaykara ) is a Turkish director .

Life

Ustaoğlu grew up in Trabzon on the Black Sea . After studying architecture at Yildiz University in Istanbul , she worked as an architect , journalist and led various video workshops. She made her feature film debut with The Trace in 1994 . Ustaoğlu celebrated her greatest international success to date in 2008 with the Turkish family drama Pandora's Box based on the script by Sema Kaygusuz . The story of a disappeared without a trace on Alzheimer diseased old woman (played by the French Tsilla Chelton ) of their children in their home village on the Black Sea is sought, the Turkish director brought in 2008 the main prize of the Spanish Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián , a .
