Ye Chong ( Chinese  叶 冲 , Pinyin Yè Chōng ; born November 29, 1969 in Shanghai ) is a former Chinese foil fencer .

Career

Ye Chong was particularly successful internationally with the team. In individual, he achieved his greatest success at the Asian Games in Beijing in 1990 when he won the gold medal. He also achieved first place with the team. In 1994 in Hiroshima he also won a silver medal with his sword and foil. At world championships he won bronze with the team in Athens in 1994 , silver in Seoul in 1999 and silver in Havana in 2003 . He took part in the Olympic Games five times : in 1988 in Seoul,In 1992 in Barcelona and 1996 in Atlanta he missed the medal ranks in the individual and with the team, but was placed in the top ten several times. 2000 in Sydney Ye reached the final with the team. After victories over Russia and Italy, the Chinese team lost to France with just 44:45 and thus won silver. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, China entered the battle for the gold medal after victories over South Korea and the United States . There the team lost to Italy with 42:45, so Ye won the silver medal again.
