YeoMen is a German a cappella band from Berlin .

history

The band was originally founded as a school band at the Sophienschule Hannover in the late 1990s and was initially called Vocapella . The five band members Absalom Reichardt, Tobias Lindh, Marek Strupp, Jonas Harder and Sebastian Leppert devote themselves primarily to modern styles such as pop , rock , hip-hop and techno . By using effects devices, electric guitars, drums and basses are generated with the voice. In 2003 they interpreted the song Mensch in an a cappella version together with Herbert Grönemeyer before the Echo Awards , in 2005 they performed for six weeks at the Christmas revue of the Friedrichstadt-Palast . In 2006 they played on the Berlin Fan Mile during the World Cup , in 2007 they were the opening act for the Berlin rock band Die Doctors on their tour Es wird tight . The five musicians are touring all over Germany, since 2006 also in France, Russia and Spain. Ukraine was added in 2008 and Italy and Tunisia in 2009. Starting in 2010, the band was five times guest artist on the ships of the AIDA Cruises. Since 2016 the band has called their style of music "Extreme-Acappella" and has won several prizes, including the 1st jury prize of the vocal contest "vokal.total" 2018 in Graz.
