Yola Semedo Moutofa Coimbra (born May 8, 1978 in Lobito , Benguela ) is an Angolan singer and currently the most awarded artist in her country.

Live and act

Yola Semedo grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a music teacher. In 1995 it won the UNESCO Golden Voice of Africa award organized in Bulgaria . She appeared as a representative of Angola at the festival. In her country she has been honored as the best female voice three times in 2000, 2006 and 2007. In October 2010 she won the title "Top dos mais Queridos" (Eng. Top of the Most Popular ) for the first time in Luanda .

Kizomba , Semba and Zouk are her musical styles. In her repertoire she sings about topics such as love, betrayal and happiness. She is the Chevron ambassador for the fight against malaria and HIV in Angola. Her best-known and so far last album she released in 2010 with the title Minha Alma . After having become the most popular singer in Angola over the past 25 years, she would like to invest more in an international career in the future. She mainly travels to Portugal , Brazil and France .
