Yolveren ( Kurmanji : Çinêrya or Çinerîya) is a jesidisches village in the southeast of Turkey . The village is located about 15 km southeast of Batman in the Batman county of the same name in the Batman Province . The place is located in Southeast Anatolia .
History and population
The original name of the village is Çinêrya or Çinerîya. The Yazidi villages were renamed through the Turkishization of geographical names in Turkey . Yolveren (Çinerya) is mostly an abandoned village today. The village had an exclusively Yazidi population.
On February 5, 2019, it became known that the Yazidi cemetery "Pîrê Zîrav" in the place was visited by grave robbers. The grave robbers suspected valuables in the graves and desecrated several Yezidi graves. The act likely occurred on February 2, 2019.
