Yonderboi (2006)

Yonderboi , actually László Fogarasi (born September 14, 1980 in Kaposvár ) is a Hungarian musician. His stage name is derived from the fictional character Yonderboy from Neuromancer .

Life

Fogarasi grew up in the village of Mernye, 250 km away from Budapest . He started playing the guitar as a child. Very soon afterwards, however, this was replaced by a computer with a mono sound card, which he got at the age of 13. He sent his first demo to the Budapest-based record company Juice Records at the age of 16 . Shortly afterwards the EP "Cinnamon Kisses" was released.

At the age of 18 he moved to Budapest, where he released his first work Shallow and Profound on the label Mole Listening Pearls , which brought him international recognition. Shallow and Profound is a mixture of downtempo , trip-hop , lounge and bar-jazz styles from the 1960s.

However, he only gained real fame when he went to the Netherlands to make music there. There he performed at the European Dance Event in Melkweg in Amsterdam in October 2003, for the Noorderslagweekend 2006 in Huize Maas in Groningen and for the 50th anniversary of the European Union in the Ridderzaal on March 24th, 2007.

A revision of his last release People Always Talk About the Weather by Junkie XL can be heard on the soundtrack of the racing game Need for Speed: Carbon .
