Yoram Gutgeld (2013)

Yoram Gutgeld (born December 14, 1959 in Tel Aviv ) is an Italian politician of Israeli origin. From 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies for the Partito Democratico .

Life

Yoram Gutgeld is a child of Polish immigrants, he grew up in Tel Aviv. He studied mathematics and philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed three years of military service. He then studied at the University of California, Los Angeles and received a Master of Business Administration in 1989 .

Gutgeld worked from 1989 as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company in Milan , where he became a partner in the company. He married an Italian woman and acquired Italian citizenship. In 2012 he became an advisor to Matteo Renzi , who at the time was the mayor of Florence. In the 2013 general election in Italy , he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for the Partito Democratico .

After Renzi took over the office of Prime Minister in February 2014 Gutgeld worked as his political and economic advisor. In 2015 he was given the job of a savings commissioner. He did not stand for re-election for the 2018 parliamentary election.
