action
Over 300 years after the war between the earth and its space colonies, mankind has successfully colonized Mars. But the Mars colonies are also striving for independence. The young aristocrat Kudelia Aina Bernstein, who leads the independence movement, wants to set off for negotiations on earth. For this she should be protected by the CSG, the mercenary army of her homeland. But when she is at their base, they are attacked by Gjallarhorn, another group of mercenaries. The unit under Orga Itsuka, which consists of young people, can repel the attack - also by using an old mecha with Mikazuki Augus as the pilot. Since the adult fighters left them in the lurch and otherwise treated them badly, the troop of child soldiers under Orga dares to revolt against their leaders and takes over command. After Mikazuki fends off another attack by Gjallarhorn, Orga renames the troops to "Tekkadan" ( 鉄 華 団 , literally: "Iron Flower Brigade") and is instructed by Kudelia to continue protecting them on their missions.
