Yoshiaki Fujikawa

Yoshiaki Fujikawa ( Japanese 藤 川 歓 晃 , Fujikawa Yoshiaki ; * 1948 ) is a Japanese jazz musician ( alto saxophone , also flute ).

Yoshiaki Fujikawa was a member of the Now Music Ensemble in the early 1970s (with Hiroaki Katayama , Hozumi Tanaka , Kazutoshi Kakubari , Keiki Midorikawa , Tadashi Yoshida ); In the following years he also worked with Sabu Toyozumi ( Sabu - The Message to Chicago , 1974), Keiki Midorikawa ( Five Pieces of Cake , 1975), Itaru Oki ( Genso Note , 1975) and Masahiko Togashi ( Voice from Yonder , 1978) . He also formed the free jazz trio FMT with Keiki Midorikawa and Sabu Toyozumi, with whom he released the two albums You Got a Freedom (1979) and Tango (1998). With the East Asia Orchestra, which he directed (with Sabu Toyozumi, Keizō Inoue , Tatsuji Yokoyama, among others ), he made a guest appearance at the Berlin Jazz Stage in 1984 ; with the Eastasia Orchestra he recorded the studio album Origin in 1985 .
