Yoshihiro Naruse

Yoshihiro Naruse ( Japanese 鳴 瀬 喜 博 , Naruse Yoshihiro ; born November 13, 1949 in Tokyo ) is a Japanese bass player . His nickname is Narucho ( ナ ル チ ョ ). He also works as a bass teacher.

biography

The son of a fruit and vegetable seller started playing the guitar in school, influenced by the Beatles . Since the band he joined already had guitarists, he changed instruments and learned to play bass. He attended Seikei University , which he graduated in 1971.

His style is mainly characterized by what is known as slapping .

In the 1970s he played in various disco bands. His first album was released in 1976. In his career he played in many bands and together with many musicians and others. a. with Lee Litnour , George Duke and Larry Graham .

In the 1990s he was a lecturer at the Tokyo Music Academy .

In 1990 he joined the jazz fusion band Casiopea and replaced Tetsuo Sakurai on bass. He will be on the road with Casiopea until 2006. Since then he has been the bass player in various bands and music projects such as Dimension , Urugome and Yaju-Ohkoku . With his band "Naru-Choice", which he founded, he plays among other things Casiopea songs composed by him, with guest musician Minoru Mukaiya .
