Larry Graham, Jr. (born August 14, 1946 in Beaumont , Texas) is an American singer , musician , songwriter and record producer . He is the uncle of the rapper Drake .

Graham became known as the bass player for the band Sly & the Family Stone . After Sly Stone got into drug problems, Graham dropped out and started his own project, Graham Central Station . From 1997 he played with Prince . Graham was a Jehovah's Witness then, as it is now , and Prince later also joined that denomination until his death.

Larry Graham is considered to be the inventor of the slap technique on the electric bass.
