Youssef Msakni ( Arabic يوسف المساكني, DMG Yūsuf al-Masākinī ; * October 28, 1990 ) is a Tunisian soccer player . He is used as a winger or as a playmaker and is currently under contract with the Lekhwiya club from Qatar . Msakni is currently considered one of the greatest talents in Tunisian football and a top performer in the national team . In the press, Msakni is sometimes referred to as Tunisia's Lionel Messi .
Career

Msakni comes from a soccer family. His father was a national player, his older brother Iheb is also a professional footballer.
Msakni received his football training in the youth of Stade Tunisien . For this club he made his debut in the Tunisian first division in 2007 . In his first professional season, he played 29 games and scored eight goals. In 2008 he then signed a contract with Espérance Tunis , one of the top clubs in his country. With Espérance he won four championships in a row from 2009 to 2012. From the 2009/10 season he came to regular assignments. In 2012 he was the top scorer with 17 goals. Espérance also won the CAF Champions League in 2011 , in which Msakni played a major role. 2012 Espérance reached the final again, but lost to al-Ahly Cairo .
In the meantime, foreign associations had also become aware of Msakni. In addition to Paris Saint-Germain , Lille OSC and Arsenal FC are said to have been interested in him. Finally, in July 2012, he signed a four-year contract with Lekhwiya , which came into force on January 1, 2013.
National team
Msakni has been a member of the Tunisian national team since 2010, with which he participated in the 2012 and 2013 African Championships.
