Youssoupha Fall (born January 12, 1995 in Dakar ) is a Senegalese - French basketball player .

career

Fall was trained at a basketball school in Thiès in his native Senegal . In 2012 he moved to the youth department of the French club Le Mans Sarthe Basket and made his debut in the French premier league for Le Mans in the 2015/16 season. In the 2016/17 season, Fall was on loan for the second division club Union Poitiers Basket 86 and returned after a year to Le Mans, where he was a top performer and became French champion in 2017/18.

During the summer break of 2018 he was signed by the Spanish top club Saski Baskonia Vitoria , but awarded to SIG Strasbourg  . There he made a further development step and scored 14.5 points as well as 8.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per encounter in 30 games in the main round over the course of the 2018/19 season.

National team

In 2012 Fall became African champions in this age group with the Senegal U18 national team. In 2017 he decided to play for France's national team and declined an invitation to join the Senegalese men's national team. The Senegalese federation refused to allow Fall to play with the French selection.
