Yuki Hashimoto

Yuki Hashimoto ( Japanese 橋本 優 貴 Hashimoto Yuki ; born May 9, 1989 ) is a former Japanese judoka . In 2013 she was third in the world championship in the semi-light weight category, up to 52 kilograms.

Athletic career

Yuki Hashimoto won the World Cup tournament in Suwon at the end of 2010 and the World Cup tournament in Sofia at the beginning of 2011. She won a bronze medal at the 2011 Universiade in Shenzhen. In 2012 she won the World Cup tournament in Budapest and the Grand Prix tournament in Düsseldorf. After failing to qualify for the London Olympics, she won the Grand Slam tournament in Tokyo in late 2012 and the Grand Slam tournament in Paris in early 2013 . With her victory at the Japanese Championships in 2013, she also qualified for the 2013 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. There she defeated the Cuban Yanet Bermoy in the quarterfinals and lost to Majlinda Kelmendi from Kosovo in the semifinals . With a victory over the Finn Jaana Sundberg , Hashimoto won a bronze medal. At the end of 2013 she won the Grand Slam in Tokyo for the second time. She finished seventh at the 2014 World Championships in Chelyabinsk, but at the end of 2014 she won the Grand Slam tournament in Tokyo for the third time. A year later she was third again in Tokyo. Hashimoto was still active internationally until 2017, but could no longer build on her great successes.
