history
The company was founded in 1997 as Tricon Global Restaurants and was created by spinning off the fast food restaurants from PepsiCo . In May 2002 the company was renamed to its current name.
A&W and Long John Silver’s were part of the company until 2011 .

Yum! is currently represented in Germany with 163 KFC and 73 Pizza Hut restaurants . In 2016, Yum! Brand's expansion plans in Europe with AmRest Holdings SE for Central and Eastern Europe. In 2016, work began on using a humanoid robot called “Pepper” in selected Pizza Hut branches in Asia and the Pacific region, which Mastercard worked with Yum! Brands developed. Pepper welcomes customers, takes orders and processes the payment process. On October 31, 2016, Yum! Brands established its China business in the listed Yum! Brands China Holding.
