Yumeno Kyūsaku
Yumeno Kyūsaku ( Japanese 夢 野 久 作 ; actually: Sugiyama Yasumichi ( 杉山 泰 道 ), childhood name: Naoki ( 杉山 直樹 ); * January 4, 1889 , † March 11, 1936 ) was a Japanese writer.
The son of the ultra-nationalist politician and member of the Gen'yōsha , Sugiyama Shigemaru , studied at the Keiō University . He then ran a farm, was a Buddhist priest, Nō teacher and journalist for a short time . He first wrote fairy tales before making a name for himself as the author of fantastic crime stories at the age of forty-five. His main works are the novels Binzume jigoku ( 瓶 詰 の 地獄 ; 1928), Kōri no hate ( 氷 の 涯 ; 1933) and Dogra Magra ( ド グ ラ ・ マ グ ラ , Dogura Magura ; 1935).
