Yun Jong-rin ( alternative spelling: Yun Cho'ng-rin ) is a North Korean politician of the Labor Party of Korea (PdAK) and general of the Korean People's Army , who is among other things the commander and director of the Supreme Guard Command, which is responsible for the personal security of Kim Jong-un and other important politicians are in charge. He is the responsible head of the most powerful and technically best equipped association of security services and military units in North Korea. He is also a member of the Central Committee of the PdAK and a member of the Central Military Commission .

Life

Yun Jong-rin served as Kim Jong-il's personal bodyguard and held various positions within the bodyguard corps. After the Supreme Guard Command was founded as its own security service in the 1990s, he became Chief of Staff of the Supreme Guard Command and was promoted to Colonel General in 1995 . He was thus a close associate of the political director of the Guard Command Vice Marshal Jang Song-u , who was responsible for the day-to-day business of this association. Yun's influence grew when he was appointed commander and director of the Supreme Guard Command in 2003 as the successor to the retired Marshal Ri Ul-sol .

On April 22, 2010, Yun was promoted to general , which was only one of two promotions made by Kim Jong-il on Army Day. In September 2010 he was on the III. Party conference of the Party of Labor of Korea also a member of the Central Committee of the PdAK and a member of the Central Military Commission . In 2014 he was temporarily demoted to colonel general, but was restored to the rank of general in 2015. He is also a member of the Supreme People's Assembly .
