Yunfeng Gao
Yunfeng Gao 云峰 高 (* 1967 ) is a Chinese entrepreneur from Shenzhen and an international investor .
Life
Yunfeng Gao graduated from Beijing Aerospace University in 1990, majoring in aircraft construction and applied mechanics. In 2007, he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in business administration from Beijing University.
He was employed as a teacher at Nanjing Aerospace University from 1990 to 1992. From 1993 to 1996 he worked for Hong Kong Han's Co., Ltd. In 1996 he founded his own company, Shenzhen Han's Co., Ltd. In 1999 he reorganized the company and changed the name to Shenzhen Han's Laser Technology Co., Ltd. He listed the company on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2004. Since then, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO . The core business of the company with 9,500 employees (as of 2015) is the manufacture of laser devices. Yunfeng Gao is also invested in real estate and tourism projects in China.
He was visiting professor at Shenzhen University and part-time professor at Harbin Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Shenzhen City Standing Committee and in that capacity is Vice-President of the General Chamber of Commerce.
On the list of the American business magazine " Forbes " of the 400 richest Chinese in November 2017, Gao is listed at number 291 with an estimated fortune of 1.33 billion US $.
Hotels in Central Switzerland
In 2011, Gao bought the Hotel Europäische Hof in Engelberg , a listed grand hotel in Art Nouveau style that was built in 1904. He would like to expand this into a 5-star superior hotel "Am Kurpark" for 100 million francs.
From 2012 to 2018, Gao held a third share in the Obwalden construction and real estate company Eberli Sarnen AG . Its subsidiary Frutt Resort AG owns the two four-star hotels Frutt Lodge & Spa on Melchsee-Frutt (opened in December 2011, construction costs 40 million francs) and the Frutt Family Lodge hotel , which opened in December 2015 , which cost 50 million francs. Both hotels are connected by an underground tunnel that cost eight million francs. The restaurant and hotel Gemsy , which Gao acquired in spring 2015, is also connected to the tunnel. Furthermore, since 2013 the Tannalp mountain inn and since autumn 2015 the Bonistock mountain hotel have been operated by subsidiaries of Frutt Resort AG. This means that the restaurants on Melchsee-Frutt are dominated by the Eberli / Gao Group.
In December 2015 Gao bought the five-star Hotel Palace Luzern in Lucerne . Gao sees his investments in hotels in Central Switzerland as a long-term commitment.
