Yusuf Tavaslı

Yusuf Tavaslı (* 1935 in Tavas , Denizli ) is a Turkish writer .

biography

Yusuf was born in 1935 in the village of Gümüşdere , which belongs to Tavas. He attended elementary school in Tavas. In 1950 he moved with his family to Istanbul , where he also attended middle school. He got to know the mufti of Eminonu Yekta Efendi. The Mufti put him in touch with the Hodscha Mustafa Halim Özyazıcı, through whom Yusuf learned the Koran by heart and became a Hafiz in 1962 . He later became a writer at Pamuk Yayınevi Publishing House and published religious books.

In the 1970s, he founded his own publishing house, Tavaslı Yayınları, and continues to publish religious books. In his 100 or so literary works, Yusuf Tavaslı deals exclusively with Islamic topics and often recites the Koran. Some of his works have been translated into Albanian and Bosnian . With a circulation of over 10 million copies of his books, he is one of the most widely read authors in Turkey. The books Tam Namaz Hocası , Tam Dua Kitabı and Mealli Yasin-i Şerif are among the bestsellers .
