Yves David (born July 11, 1928 in Montpellier , † December 18, 2010 there ) was a French football player .

Career

David began playing football in 1938 as a child at ASPTT Montpellier . The 174 centimeter tall midfielder remained loyal to the club into young adulthood before he was signed by the second division Olympique Nîmes in 1948 . In this he was called from now on occasionally until he played almost no role in the 1949/50 season and did not get beyond a mission. Nevertheless, he made it to the first division on January 1, 1950 with his signature at Olympique Marseille . On the same day he made his major league debut when he was on the pitch in the 2-1 win against the Stade Français .

In Marseille he was hardly used and he was often a member of the reserve team before he managed to return to the first team for a few games at the beginning of the 1951/52 season. On September 16, 1951, he ran for the last time in the elite class of French football and had to witness a 3-10 defeat against AS Saint-Étienne . In December 1951 he was given to the second division Olympique Alès . For this he was a regular player until he ended his professional career in 1952 before his 24th birthday; in the course of which he had come to seven first division games with one goal and 28 second division games with four goals. He then returned to his youth club ASPTT from Montpellier and wore its jersey until 1960.
