Yvonne Fayard

Yvonne Fayard (born November 6, 1911 in Paris ; † March 8, 1992 there ) was a French table tennis player . She became French champion eight times in the 1930s .

successes

Yvonne Fayard won the French singles championship in 1930, 1932 and 1933 . In doubles she won in 1932 with Maggie Beyt and in 1933 with Monique Ravigneau, she won the mixed title in 1931 with Frich, in 1932 with Raymond Verger and in 1933 with Henri Bolelli. In 1934 she was nominated for the world championship . She defeated Annemarie Hähnsch in the international match against Germany . In 1934 she ended her active career.

family

Yvonne's father was Joseph-Arthème Fayard (1866-1936), founder of the French Fayard publishing house . Her brother was the writer, journalist and publishing director Jean Fayard . In March 1936, Yvonne Fayard married the banker Marcel Wiriath (1898–1974), president of the French bank Crédit Lyonnais . The marriage produced three sons.
