reception

Commenting on Hofstetter's book Das Ende der Demokratie , Thomas Thiel commented in the FAZ : “Your proposals are well thought out and do not escape into utopia. [...] Despite some lengths, Hofstetter succeeded in making an impressive analysis. Europe shouldn't lose any time to implement their proposals. ”Jens-Christian Rabe wrote in the SZ :“ The end of democracy is a very good book that makes you feel very bad. ”

According to the Spiegel author Manfred Dworschak, Hofstetter is "a master of the really big noise". "No expert, maybe except for a few fantastic fans," said her predictions about computer technology were feasible. Hofstetter would "nimble as a shell game [...] constantly switch from solid explanations to swaggering AI esotericism".
