Yxlan is an island in the Stockholm archipelago . It is located between Furusund and Blidö in the municipality of Norrtälje in the province of Stockholm County .

Yxlan is mentioned in King Waldemar's sailing route from the 13th century with the name Øslæ . At that time, Yxlan consisted of several islands and the name mentioned probably only refers to the village of Yxlan and not to the current island.

Yxlan is mostly made up of forest and is very elongated in shape. The island is about 15 kilometers long and one kilometer wide. There is a school on the northern part of the island near Köpmanholm .
