Zélia Fonseca (* 1960 in Itaúna , Brazil ) is a Brazilian guitarist, composer and singer. She is an artist who is particularly valued in Europe and made famous in the duo Rosanna & Zélia .

Life

Zélia Fonseca comes from the city ​​of Itaúna, 80 km from Belo Horizonte . This is how she got in touch with the diverse music scene in Minas Gerais at an early stage . In 1974 she met Rosanna Tavares , with whom she played together for 30 years, interrupted only while studying journalism. Tavares died in Belo Horizonte in 2006.

The two came to Portugal in 1989 and discovered that their music was very successful in Europe. Their ways led via France and Finland to Germany, where they finally settled in Frankfurt am Main in 1993 . You have worked with many musicians from the Latin American and jazz scenes, including a.
