Zélia Trindade

Zélia Trindade (born December 22, 1969 in Viqueque , Portuguese Timor ) is a lawyer from East Timor . From 2012 to 2018 she was Deputy Attorney General .

Career

In 1998, Trindade graduated from Jember University in Surabaya, Indonesia .

She began working in the judiciary during the United Nations Interim Administration for East Timor (UNTAET). On July 20, 2000, she was sworn in as a public prosecutor. In 2004 she was an inspector of the East Timorese National Police (PNTL) and in 2005 also an advisor to the non-governmental organizations Paz e Democracia and Género e Igualdade . Trindade is also an advisor to ALFeLa ( tetum Asisténsia Legál ba Feto no Labarik ; German  legal advice for women and children ).

From 2004 to 2007 Trindade completed the course for judges and defense lawyers. From July 2007 she was with the District Attorney's Office of Dili and from 2010 with the District Attorney's Office of Suai . Trindade was appointed Assistant Attorney General on August 15, 2012, and her term was extended on September 27, 2015. On December 4, 2018, Afonso Lopez was sworn in as her successor.

On January 10, 2019, Trindade was appointed inspector of the prosecutor's office.
