action
Maud Morton, the somewhat cocky and easy-going daughter of a factory owner, will one day be undone by her carefree behavior. At a ball she falls into the clutches of a count who seduces the young girl. A child emerges from this liaison. Maud wants to prevent her parents from finding out about this misstep and then gives her baby to her foster sister, Ellen.
Now, in turn, Ellen finds herself in need of explanation to her husband, who believes that his previously decent wife has cheated on him. He then disowned Ellen. Soon, however, her husband falls into the clutches of fraudsters, from which of all people Ellen frees him. He has to realize that he was wrong about his wife. Ellen, a human soul, even manages to bring Maud and her count together.

criticism
“Pola Negri was delightful in the role of an extremely spirited young girl who, in her self-indulgence, seizes every opportunity to commit some kind of prank. (...) The portrayal of the piquant actress is a brilliant achievement and also the captivating, varied content, the magnificent images and the excellent staging raised the film far above the level of the average dramas. "
In Paimann's film lists you can read: “The material is fantastic, the game and the photos are very good. Scenery good. "
