The road into town before World War II

The Zülpicher road in Nörvenich , a municipality in the district of Düren ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ), is a historic main town access.

Zülpicher Straße branches off southwest of the village from Bundesstraße 477 , the old Roman military road from Neuss to Zülpich. It meets the market square in the middle of town and ends there too. It is the only street in the parish that has house numbering beyond 100.

All three general practitioners in the community have their practices in the street. The Kalscheuer siblings also lived here . In the 19th century there was a brewery in house number 2 . From 1918 to 1964 the building was the only pharmacy in town, which moved from 1964 to 1987 to Bahnhofstrasse 41, now the police station, and to the market square in 1987. The house at Zülpicher Straße 22 was the old people's home of the Catholic parish until the 1990s. It was rebuilt in Jakob-Breidkopff-Straße.

The street has always had its current name and is popularly called En de Zöllech . It is interesting that the lower part of the street from Marktplatz to Kirchgasse belonged to the Nörvenich parish of St. Medardus until 1808 and the rest of the street to the Hochkirchen parish of St. Viktor.
