The ZAZ Tavria ( Ukrainian Таврія , Russian Таврия , German " Taurien ") is a small car made by the Ukrainian automobile manufacturer SAS . Production began in 1987. The Tavria was the manufacturer's first vehicle with a water-cooled front engine and front-wheel drive . The car was available as a three-door hatchback model ZAZ-1102 Tavria , from 1994 as a five-door station wagon model ZAZ-1105 Dana and from 1999 as an extended hatchback model ZAZ-1103 Slavuta . At the same time there was a commercial vehicle version ZAZ-110550 Tavria Pick-Up as a pickup and panel van from 1993 . The vehicles of the Tavria series have 1.1 to 1.3 liter engines with 52 to 67 hp.
With an identical wheelbase of 2320 mm for all models, the Tavria is 3708 mm long, 1554 mm wide and 1410 mm high and weighs 760 kg. The Slavuta measures 3980 × 1578 × 1425 mm and weighs 856 kg.
At the beginning of the 1990s, the Tavria was offered for a short time with modest success through Deutsche Lada Automobil GmbH in Germany. It did not have a direct competitor here, only the much more modern Lada Samara could be viewed as remotely comparable.
