The rear Mönchssee ( pl. Zadni Mnichowy Stawek ) in Poland is a glacial lake in the valley behind the Mönch ( pl. Dolina za Mnichem ) in the High Tatras . It is located in the Bukowina Tatrzańska commune . The lake is on a marked hiking trail. Its water level fluctuates a lot. The lake rarely dries up completely. It is usually frozen over for ten months of the year.
