Zalka Kuchling

Zalka Kuchling , also Rosalia Kuchling , (born August 5, 1961 ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ) and AHS teacher. Kuchling was a member of the Carinthian state parliament from 2013 to 2018 .

education and profession

As a Carinthian Slovenian, Kuchling attended the bilingual elementary school in St. Franzisci. After elementary school, she completed the lower level of the federal high school and the federal high school for Slovenes in Klagenfurt, where she lived in the Mohorjeva student home during this time . She then continued her education at the three-year home economics school in St. Peter near St. Jakob im Rosental and then graduated in Linz . She then studied French and German at the University of Klagenfurt and was employed as a junior teacher in Wolfsberg . In 1990 she finally found a job as professor for French and German at the BG / BRG for Slovenes, where she is still active today and of which she was appointed head of March 1, 2015.

Politics and functions

From the age of 18, Kuchling became involved in the “Lipa” cultural association in Völkermarkt , where she also chaired the association for several years. After 2006 she concentrated her engagement more on politics, whereby she became active with the Carinthian Greens in 2004 and was elected deputy state spokeswoman in 2009. She has also been a member of the regional executive committee of Green Carinthia since 2009 and acted as spokesperson for the national minorities and education of the Green Party in Carinthia. Kuchlig is district spokeswoman for the Greens in Völkermarkt and ran for third place on the list of the Carinthian Greens in the state elections in 2013 and on the second place in the state electoral district of East . After the election of the Carinthian Greens, she was sworn in as a member of the Carinthian state parliament on March 28, 2013.

Kuchling is the deputy chairman of the Community of Carinthian Slovenes / Skupnost koroških Slovencev in Slovenk .

Private

Kuchling was born to Marija and Janez Kuchling. She grew up with her seven sisters and three brothers on a small farm in Gattersdorf near Völkermarkt. She has been a single mother of one daughter since 1998 and lives in Gattersdorf.
