Zargari Romani
Zargari is a branch of the Balkan Romani dialects . It is used by around 160 families in the Iranian province of Qazvin in the village of Zargar ( Abyek district ). But it is also spoken in Afghanistan and Pakistan .
The UCLA Language Materials Project describes Zargari as a "secret language of artists" based on Persian. The Linguistic Summer Institute sees Zargari as a dialect of goldsmiths. An oral tradition traces the name of the village back to its founders, three brothers who were goldsmiths (Persian زرگر, zargar). The classification according to ISO 639-3 is rmn-zar.
