Zbigniew Czarnuch

Zbigniew Czarnuch (born March 18, 1930 in Lututów , Łódź Voivodeship ) is a Polish teacher, publicist and local historian.

Zbigniew Czarnuch studied in Warsaw and works as a history teacher in Witnica (German: Vietz). He published on educational and historical topics.

He came to Witnica in autumn 1945, where his father was appointed mayor.

Czarnuch editorial member of the in Gorzow Wielkopolski appearing Yearbook on the history of Warta Region , President of the Friends of Witnica eV . as well as initiator and deputy president of the Polish-German association "Educatio" Pro Europa Viadrina .

In 1994 he founded the Park of Signposts and Milestones of Cultures ( Park Drogowskazów i Słupów Milowych Cywilizacji ) in Witnica (Lubusz Voivodeship). He also published several German-language articles on milestones.

In October 2009 Zbigniew Czarnuch was awarded the Georg Dehio Culture Prize for his unspectacular, persistent work in promoting Polish-German understanding .
