Zdenko Krnić
Zdenko Krnić (born October 2, 1947 in Maribor , † July 23, 2010 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav , later Serbian chess player and author.
In 1970 he made his debut in the Yugoslav championship. In 1976 he received the title of International Master . His greatest tournament success was second place in the 1980 Yugoslav championship in Skender Vakuf .
Since 1971 he was an employee of the chess informator , from 1996 its editor. His last Elo rating was 2383, his highest rating of 2450 he reached in January 1990.
Krnić died after about a week in hospital as a result of a traffic accident. A motorcyclist who subsequently hit the road had seriously injured him while crossing a street. Zdenko Krnić leaves behind his wife and two sons.
