Zdzisław Maklakiewicz (born July 9, 1927 in Warsaw ; † October 9, 1977 there ) was a Polish film and theater actor.

Life

Maklakiewicz studied at the theater schools in Cracow and Warsaw and graduated from the Warsaw Theater Academy in 1950. He was a talented comedian, in a duet with his friend Jan Himilsbach he created characters from everyday life, as in the film “ Rejs ” (German “Rejs - the excursion ”, 1970), in which he mimed the engineer Mamoń, an embodiment of banality. His “Rejs” dialogues, often improvised in front of the camera, are part of the treasure trove of Polish proverbs.

As a theater actor he worked in Krakow, Danzig, Breslau and Warsaw. He suffered from alcohol abuse; he was beaten to death in the streets of Warsaw by civil militia officials .

He was posthumously awarded the Officer's Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order by the President on August 2, 2009 .
