Rejs is a Polish feature film from director Marek Piwowski , shot in 1970 and is regarded in Poland as a cult film .

action

The film is shot in a semi-documentary manner with only a few professional actors and shows life in real-socialist Poland in a satirical way on the basis of a boat trip over a weekend . The trip on the Vistula introduces archetypes of a socialist society, through which the Polish audience can still today be carried away to salmon volleys. The amateur actor Jan Himilsbach has been one of the most popular comedians in Poland since that film .

Reviews

“Close observation and staging skills characterize the film, which was made without a fully developed script and with only a few professional actors. It was initially banned by the Polish censors and was shown in 1970 in a version shortened by 22 minutes. However, since there was only one copy available, it was in fact hardly visible. The film developed into an insider tip, later into a cult film. "
