Stanislaw Tym

Stanisław Tym (born July 17, 1937 in Małkinia Górna ) is a Polish satirist , actor , director and author .

In the 1950s Tym studied chemistry in Warsaw and took acting lessons at the State Drama School PWST . As a student, he wrote satirical texts and performed on student cabaret stages. From 1960 to 1972 he was an actor, writer and director of the Studencki Teatr Satyryków (STS) cabaret stage . From 1984 to 1986 he was director of the theater in Elbląg .

In addition to numerous comedic theater texts and skits, Tym wrote screenplays for Stanisław Bareja and appeared in films as early as the 1960s. He received one of his legendary roles from Marek Piwowski in his cult film Rejs . He made his first film as a screenwriter for Bareja in 1976 under the pseudonym Andrzej Kill . In 1981 he wrote the satirical cult film Miś . He himself took on the main role of Ryszard Ochódzki . In 1991 he wrote another screenplay about the satirical character Ryszard Ochódzki and in 2007 a third part followed with the film Ryś . In Ryś Tym took over as director.

Stanisław Tym also wrote columns for the weekly Wprost , but switched to the weekly Polityka before the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2007 .
